Thai Aromatherapy Massage
Thailand is well known for its invigorating Thai yoga massage. The country is also renowned for its exotic herbs and spices and it is no wonder that these have penetrated the massage world. Aromatherapy is essentially and western form of complementary therapy making use of the known medicinal and balancing properties of plants, trees and shrubs like lavender, rose, rosemary, orange, tea tree, eucalyptus, juniper, etc.
Thailand has many of it’s own wonderful herbs and spices creating the most wonderful oils with medicinal and balancing properties including the lotus flower, frangipani, kaew and green tea. In addition, this therapy uses the well-known essential oils including lemon grass, black pepper, ylang ylang, cajeput and eucalyptus.
In contrast to Thai Yoga Massage where the client is treated on a mat on the floor and remains fully dressed, during the Thai Aromatherapy Massage the client is undressed and the massage takes place on the massage couch. The treatment uses many Thai Yoga Massage techniques such as palming thumbing and stretching, which combine very well with the holistic massage techniques. Combine these powerful traditional Thai techniques with aromatherapy essential oils and you have a superb fusion where East meets West.
