Myofascial Release Diploma

The Myofascial Release Diploma Course

Myofascial release is relatively new.  The 1970 the first course entitled “myofascial release” was taught in the United States.

Myofascial Release is a gentle therapy, consisting of a mixture of light stretching and massage work.  During a session, the therapist will apply hands-on massage strokes in order to release tension from the fibrous bands of the muscles, bones, nerves and joints, by unblocking any scar tissue or adhesions due to injury or surgery in the muscles and surrounding tissues.

During the course participants will learn how to perform myofascial release using techniques such as:

Skin rolling
Skin rolling seeks to remove restriction in the superficial fascia. It can be used to pin point areas of tension

Arm and leg pulls
Joint pulls connect the fascial web from the top of the head to the tip of the toes. Joint pulls will release any fascial restrictions.

Cross handed stretches
These are performed on the skin each hand pushing in opposite directions. This technique can be used over large and small areas.

Transverse diaphragm releases
This helps to free the 3 transverse planes in the body: pelvic floor, respiratory diaphragm and the thoracic inlet.

At the end of the course participants will be able to perform myofascial release techniques. One can use myofascial release as a therapy on its own or include it into other body therapies
