"Massage is nothing new to my family; my Mother started massaging my brother and me instinctively as kids when we had headaches and general muscle aches and pains. It relaxed us and helped ease the pains. This instinctive use of massage I have carried through my life.
For fifteen years I worked within the care field, specifically with the elderly. As part of the daily care routine I would massage residents to aid with circulation and movement. Little did I know at the time how important this was for the health of the people in my care.
I was therefore drawn to the whole idea of massage therapy and what it can do to help the general well being of individuals. Having a child of my own with special needs I also recognised how important it is to treat individual requirements with individual solutions.
I embarked on and passed an ITEC course in Holistic Massage with Accredited Massage Courses, the sister company to Integrated Body Dynamics. I was trained by Justin Johnson and Robert Donkers and learnt a great deal from the course material and them personally. Since taking that course I have also trained in Sports Massage level 4, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Massage Techniques and Myofacial Release. I am also a member of the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA).
Updating and increasing my range of techniques is something I very much look forward to doing and relevant up-dates will appear on the website. I am very excited to be part of this amazing group of therapists and look forward to helping you with your individual care treatment."
