Newsletter March 2023

Published on 22nd March 2023

Suddenly there's a lot to tell you this month.  Bear with us, it's all good stuff.

Our therapists all continue to train

CPD (or Continuing Professional Development) is a constant and wonderful part of our lives as therapists.  Here are a few things that we're doing at the moment to develop as practitioners. Eva has just started studying Sports Massage Level 5.  A mark of her dedication is that she has to go all the way to St Mary's University in Twickenham for classes.  She should complete the course in about 6 months.

Alison Douglas, already a qualifed Reflexologist of many years, is completing studies in Facial Reflexology.  Facial Reflexology has all the benefits of Foot Reflexology with added aesthetic extras like an improved complexion and a younger, radiant glow.  It is a deeply relaxing treatment helping to remove tension in the face as well as support clients with bruxism, bells palsy, blocked sinuses, migraines, insomnia and general stress and anxiety.  She hopes to be offering this in about a month.

Job vacancy in our reception team

We are looking for a part-time receptionist for the clinic.

It's very part-time - just one day a week, which could be either Saturday or Monday.  We don't have preconceived notions of who would be best for the job, but just that applicants would need to be good with a computer, good on the phone, well organised and prepared to turn their hand to whatever needs doing.

It would be great if applicants could have some flexibility and be prepared to fill in for colleagues' holidays and sickness.

If you'd be interested in applying, please send an email to: jobs@integratedbodydynamics.co.uk.

Include a CV if you have one.  If not, just tell us a bit about yourself.

Survey of clients

We carried out a survey of our clients last month, so we'd like to give a big thank you to everyone who sent in a reply.

It seems that we're doing a good job.  One person said "Don't change anything!"  I have to admit, we probably will, but not too much.  We will put some of the comments on our website.

Everyone who responded will be added to our Prize Draw.  The name we pull out of a hat this weekend will get a free treatment.  Good luck everyone!

Joy's + Rob's Bdays

This picture of Joy and Robert, two of our founder directors is from our launch - 13 years ago.  Joy's hair has changed a bit, but Robert's not so much.

Well, it's 13 years on and they have both reached landmark birthdays.  Next week Robert is 60 and Joy is 75.  They are both shining examples that a career in complementary therapy must be good for you.

I'm sure you'll join us in wishing them both happy birthdays.

Holy Trinity Food Bank

I'm sure many of you know about the work of the Food Bank based at the Holy Trinity Church Hall on Stapleton Hall Road - just yards from the clinic.

It's a terrible truth that such a thing is necessary in one of the richest countries in the world.

As with many charities, the early months of the year are lean times.  People often think about giving to charity at Christmas, but charities then run short of donations and resources in the winter months.

Although there are collecting boxes for donated food in London (Ferme Park Road) and Sainsburys (top end of Stroud Green Road) the Food Bank now relies mainly on monetary donations.  To donate financially, please email the Food Bank direct at:

donate@holytrinityfoodbank.org.uk

Thank you on behalf of both the Food Bank and the families they support.

Much love from the team
